Bruce Vaughn, chief creative executive for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said the updates were intended to make the parks more interactive to reflect the changing nature of consumer entertainment.
Instead of simply shaking hands with characters or getting a hug, children will be “immersed in their world,” Mr. Vaughn said.
For instance, children will help fairies prepare a 16th birthday party for Aurora from “Sleeping Beauty,” and help Cinderella prepare for the ball, he said.
